Handled Mugs: The Sublimation Method

The challenge: A mug or stainless tumbler is a standard shape — but a flatbed printer can only print one side at a time. Manual rotation between passes causes misalignment. Your customer expects a seamless 360° wrap with no visible seam.

Sublimation Heat Transfer: Print your design onto sublimation paper using a sublimation printer. Wrap the paper around the polymer-coated mug, secure with heat-resistant tape, and press in a mug heat press at 180°C for 60 seconds. The ink gasifies and bonds permanently into the polymer coating — vibrant, dishwasher-safe, full-color wrap.

Bottles & Tumblers: The UV DTF Method

The challenge: Water bottles taper at the neck. Flasks have curved, irregular sides. A mug press only works on perfectly round, polymer-coated blanks. These shapes cannot rotate evenly under a flatbed printhead — the distance between printhead and surface changes as it turns.

UV DTF Crystal Label: Print the label on AB film in any shape — contour-cut to follow the bottle curve. Transfer by hand in 15 seconds. The 3D domed crystal finish looks like it was printed directly on the bottle. No machine needed at the transfer site. Dishwasher-safe after 24-hour cure.

Sublimation Heat Transfer

1. Load mug — Clamp ceramic mug or tumbler onto the motorized mug press.
2. Print — Flatbed prints CMYK + white while jig rotates the item. 2–3 minutes for full 360° coverage. Optional gloss varnish pass.
3. Unload & QC — Remove mug. Print is instantly dry (LED UV cure). Inspect wrap seam and color.
4. Pack — No post-processing. Mug is retail-ready immediately after print.

UV DTF Crystal Label
